The ISO/IEC 17025 standard is an international quality management system standard that was developed for use in test and calibration laboratories.

✅ Proof of application and establishment of quality management system
✅ Providing reliable technical results
✅ Basis for approval of the qualification of national and international authorities

Currently, the international standard ISO/IEC 17025 includes all the requirements that testing and calibration laboratories must meet in order to prove that they have implemented a quality system and are technically competent and able to provide valid results.

If the laboratories meet the requirements of the ISO 17025 standard and are certified by authorities that have mutual recognition agreements with their counterparts in other countries using this standard, it will be easy for the countries to accept the test and calibration results. The application of this standard facilitates cooperation between laboratories and other organizations and helps to exchange information, trade and coordinate standards and implementation methods. It is the responsibility of each laboratory to carry out its testing and calibration activities in a way that meets the requirements. This standard should be observed and the demands of customers, legal authorities and organizations that recognize laboratories should also be met. This standard includes two parts: management requirements and technical requirements. Meeting these two means having the qualification according to ISO 17025. Applying this standard causes:

Facilitating cooperation between laboratories and other organizations
Exchange of information and experiences between partner laboratories
Harmonizing standards and implementation methods
Facilitating acceptance of test and calibration results
Proof of quality system implementation and technical competence (valid technical results)
